Enhancing security with key-pair authentication for Snowflake

Introduction

If you’re a Snowflake customer, you probably heard about the recent announcement moving towards mandatory multi-factor authentication. This is a big step in data security, reflecting a broader industry trend towards more robust protection measures. At Keebo, we’re not just keeping pace; we’re leading the charge. That’s why we’re thrilled to roll out our latest feature: Key-Pair Authentication for our Warehouse Optimization tool. This update isn’t just about enhancing security—it’s about making your data management effortlessly secure.

Implementing Keebo’s Key-Pair Authentication

Setting up key-pair authentication in your Keebo environment is simple. Here’s how you can enhance your security:

Generate Your Keys: Start by creating a public and a private key and assign the public key to a Snowflake user. Keep your private key secure—it’s your digital fingerprint. For more details on how to do this, read the Snowflake user guide.

Setup on Keebo: Add your private key to your Keebo setup during initial configuration. It’s a one-off setup that secures your long-term operations. You can do this by the following:
