Keebo Product Update: Q1, 2023

The first quarter delivered improvements to spend analytics, warehouse optimization, and security.
The Keebo engineering team continuously improves the product and builds new capabilities. In Q1 2023, we released several Snowflake warehouse optimization improvements.
Advanced Snowflake Spend Analytics
Keebo continuously learns from your Snowflake usage to optimize performance and reduce costs. You can now project credit usage for the next 12 months using Keebo’s insights. To access this, log in to the Keebo portal and select Projections under Warehouse Optimization.

Configure four settings:
- Select specific warehouses or include all.
- Enter your Snowflake cost per credit (for example, $2.00).
- Select a growth model. Use linear growth for expanding workloads or no growth for stable usage.
- Select a savings baseline. Use year-to-date or a recent time frame to reflect recent changes, such as slider adjustments.
Adjust these settings to forecast Snowflake costs based on actual usage and Keebo savings.
Multi-cluster Optimization Control
Snowflake can scale clusters up and down to handle query workloads. However, control is limited to minimum and maximum cluster settings. In bursty workloads, Snowflake may scale up too aggressively and take time to scale down, increasing costs.
Instead of static limits, Keebo dynamically calculates the optimal number of clusters based on historical and real-time workloads. You control how aggressively it adjusts scaling. Previously, you could not set a minimum for the maximum cluster limit, allowing aggressive reductions down to one cluster.
You can now set a minimum value for the maximum cluster limit (“floor”). This provides finer control over multi-cluster optimization while maintaining efficiency.
To access this setting, go to Warehouse Settings and edit the desired warehouse.

Next, create a new rule or edit an existing one:

The multi-cluster settings appear in the rule configuration.

Security and Compliance Improvements
- SOC 2 Compliance
- Achieved SOC 2 Type I and began monitoring for Type II.
- Enhanced Encryption
- Added a second encryption layer and adopted stronger SHA-2 policies. Keebo only accesses usage telemetry, not business data.
- Privacy Controls
- Strengthened GDPR and CCPA compliance with fine-grained cookie controls in the portal and website.
